Finally!

Well, it's finally finished! We've been dragging our feet finishing staining our screened in porch for about two years, but it's done!

Corey isn't a fan of heights so he did all he could without having to climb up on a ladder too high, so we've been staring at this eyesore forever.

Did I mention we live on a hill, so our poor neighbors have had to look at this horrendous half done job. So sorry.
We decided not to use a typical stain on the deck and used a product called Deck Over; it's really sludge like so it took awhile to get it painted, but it's done!! Now we won't have to worry about it for about 100 years 😉

I chose black because I love how it looks with the green grass and black blends in when you're in the porch looking out. I'm not staining the columns and posts under the deck because I love the way they look.

Succulent Obsessed

I love succulents and every summer I buy an arrangement for my kitchen or outdoor table. I usually get them at lowes but this year I decided to make my own. It was so cheap and easy!
I got the pot at TJ Maxx (favorite store!) for $7.99 and then went to our local farmers market to load up on different varieties of succulents.

Graham made me this little pot for Mother's Day one year and the succulent that currently resided there was deader than dead. So it got replaced as well.

Weekend Projects

Hello friends!
We had a great weekend, and I was even able to finish a couple of annoying projects that have been around for awhile 😉

The first was so easy and should have been done two years ago when we got new counters. The reason it took so long to paint this tiny spot in my kitchen (where everyone can see it) is I'm not really sure what color the walls are, and I have a tiny sample, and it's not the right sheen so even painted the right color it wouldn't be perfect- but I was wrong, two seconds later and it looks great!

This is right after I painted it so it does look a little different.

But not from here!

This isn't a project that was done this weekend but not long ago- the plates over the other cabinets needed something larger in the center so I picked up this platter to give it balance.

Much better!

So here's the kitchen
Photos on one wall, plates and a chalk board- maximizing space 😁

And the command center!

We also finished a huge protect outside, ill share next time!

Have a great day!

Master Bath Reveal

Hi friends!
We made it!!! Four weeks of living in dust and without our shower and it's finally over (and it didn't really seem like 28 days, I mean, who's counting ;) ).

The demo/remodel only took two weeks but we had to wait an additional two weeks for the glass for our shower doors to come in.

Here are the after pics!

How to Live Through a Remodel

Hi Friends!

These past two weeks have flown by! I’m happy to report that today is the last day of the bathroom remodel, and we made it! Ha! No more living out of storage bins and sleeping in the guest bedroom!

It really wasn’t as bad as I was anticipating. Sure, there’s dust everywhere, and there’s been a trailer parked in front of our house for fourteen days (SO SORRY to my awesome neighbors) but by four this afternoon, we should be done! Hallelujah! I’m excited to get everything back in order, you know, free of dust, tarps to protect the bedroom, pictures hung back on the wall. This sort of disarray keeps me awake at night.

Here are a few things I’ve learned to keep myself sane during a remodel.

1.       Walk away. Try to keep in mind that this is a short season, and it will be over soon. Don’t stress about the mess or that the trailer parked on your front lawn is killing your grass (Corey’s worry, not mine). Just walk away try to forget it. Or close the door and pretend everything on the other side is exactly as it should be.

2.       Be flexible. My boys need naps/rest time, or else all hell breaks lose later in the afternoon. I’m a spazz about them sleeping in their rooms but realized this probably wasn’t going to work with the loudness of the remodel during the day, so we set up a pack in play in the playroom, and everyone was happy.

3.       Stock up on wine. I think this one is pretty self-explanatory.

I hope these tips help if you're about to start a remodel!

Enjoy!

So Long Triangle Tub

Hi friends!

Today is demo day on the hill! We're so pumped up.... But I'm already over the mess my house is in 😂 how the heck do they do it on Fixer Upper?!?! Oh well. 1/2 day over only two weeks left 😳
We're definitely diy-ers but this master bathroom project is out of our expertise (major plumbing and electrical) so we called in the expert. I'll post updates as the project moves along!
Enjoy!

Before

Sorry neighbors! Don't worry- it will all be gone today 😁

Delivering the new soaking tub!

Boys Bathroom Revamp

We experienced a blizzard (not really, but it did feel like it) a month ago and I took a couple hours to update the boys bathroom- for the millionth time, but who's counting.
First, I added a fresh coat of gray paint to the walls - replacing the original tannish color that I was never happy with.

Then I continued my small obsession with painted ceilings, and the color Comfort Gray and added a coat of that to the ceiling.

After that was done I added a new aqua Octopus towel hook from the Young House Love line at Home Depot.
I hope you're all doing well!
